Position Summary 

The Blanks Program Sales & Product Lead will own and grow Meridian Blue’s blanks business across headwear, tees, polos, hoodies, outerwear, and future categories added in response to customer demand. 

This is role is responsible for revenue growth, customer relationships, product direction, and the overall blanks customer experience. The role serves as the commercial lead for the program and the voice of the customer within Meridian Blue. 

Headwear expertise is central to the position. This person will work closely with Product Development and Design to identify, shape, and evaluate new headwear styles based on customer needs, market trends, materials, construction, and decoration methods. 

Sourcing and Product Development manage factory execution, while this position brings the customer, market, and commercial perspective into product decisions.  

Required Qualifications

  • Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline from prospecting through customer activation, retention, and growth. 
  • Develop relationships with printers, embroiderers, embellishers, decorators, distributors, promotional-product companies, and other blanks buyers. 
  • Grow existing accounts by expanding product and category adoption and identifying new customer, channel, and partnership opportunities. 
  • Own the blanks customer experience across sampling, ordering, delivery, reorders, communication, and issue resolution. 
  • Identify customer pain points and work across teams to improve product information, inventory visibility, lead times, ordering, and support. 
  • Translate customer feedback, sales data, and market gaps into product recommendations and clear development briefs. 
  • Serve as Meridian Blue’s headwear subject-matter expert, including construction, crown shapes, profiles, fits, closures, materials, and decoration methods. 
  • Partner with Product Development and Design on new styles, assortment planning, color, sizing, materials, silhouettes, features, and category expansion. 
  • Own the program strategy, sales plan, product roadmap, pricing recommendations, promotions, and volume programs. 
  • Track revenue, gross margin, retention, reorders, pipeline, forecast accuracy, and product performance. 
  • Validate new product concepts with customers before significant development or inventory commitments. 
  • Partner with Operations, Sourcing, and Product Development on demand forecasts, launch timing, inventory priorities, and product readiness. 
  • Lead product presentations, sample reviews, account meetings, and trade-show participation. \
  • Maintain accurate CRM, pipeline, forecast, and customer activity records. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience launching blank headwear or apparel products. 
  • Experience growing a sales or product program from an early stage. 
  • Relationships with decorators, distributors, dealers, or promotional-product buyers. 
  • Familiarity with wholesale and distributor sales channels. 
  • Experience translating customer needs into product briefs and assortment decisions. 
  • Experience with customer research, advisory groups, or concept validation. 
  • Familiarity with CRM, ecommerce, wholesale ordering, inventory, and forecasting systems.

The position will include a base salary plus commission or other performance-based compensation tied to program results.
